Being intentional about visibility as an intuitive and sensitive person
Here's what I've been doing as I contemplate leaving social media
A big welcome to all of my new subscribers! And a special hug to my friend Kelley Hunter because many of you have come through her amazing Substack!
Since October I’ve been on this deep dive into the big picture of my work. On the outside it sure doesn’t look like much. But on the inside? I’ve been peeling apart so much.

I decided I wanted to get more ‘serious’ about my work. That’s such a silly way to say something because it’s not like everything we do isn’t serious or meaningful but for me it means I want to be more deliberate and purposeful about the work I do and the business I’m building.
One of the beliefs I hold is that it’s important to build a solid foundation if I want growth. When we think about work and business, we might think plans and financial goals and what we are selling. But before all of that, the clarity of your energy is so much more important.
I know I’m speaking to intuitive and sensitive women so you know the energy of a thing is important - but when you are living in alignment, paying attention to your energy and following your intuition, then the energy of a thing is everything.
For me that meant I needed to get precisely clear. The process to get there wasn’t direct. It’s not like I sat down, decided and wrote out my company vision and mission statements.
I’ve been down so many pathways to get to clarity. I’ve fully designed THREE completely different programs on my journey to refining who exactly I work with and how I help. Two are in the trash. One finally sits right and feels correct.
I’ve spent MONTHS refining how to describe my particular people. Is it intuitive women or spiritual women? Is it business women or entrepreneurs? What ages? What are the situations they are facing? On and on and on.
And through all of that I had to hone in on my mission and vision. I simply can not set course toward a destination if I have not clarified the larger vision.
Here’s why: I’m not motivated by money. I simply do not get excited about setting a financial aspirational goal - like hitting multi-six figures or tripling my income. Money is necessary and I do aspire to have more than plenty but that isn’t the thing that motivates me in the work I do. Money is the outcome of doing work that I enjoy and is meaningful.
So then what’s the point of the work I do within the context of a business?
It’s the vision - the deep desire that sits behind and beneath my everyday work. I have to be clear about it so that everything that is done within the context of ‘work’ is in clean alignment.
Listen, every single one of us doing our heart’s work is following a larger vision. Without question.
But putting it into words? Pure, full, uncensored words. The kind where you aren’t hiding from yourself or others. Doing that is the challenge. To do it well requires a degree of vulnerability and courage with ourselves that we don’t often gift ourselves.
I also happen to believe that it is scarier when you’re a woman and have a marginalized identity (yes, intuitive women are marginalized) to fully lean into the vision for your work. The fear comes from staring face-to-face with the picture your soul has of you versus the you that stares back from your mirror. Living into that bigger picture can take your breath away.
Words are the first manifested form of the ephemeral energy of our dreams. Words, spoken or written, are the visible form our our dreams - of who we are.
This brings me right up to the point of this article: being visible in our work.
One of the biggest, if not THE biggest, challenges I see with intuitive women growing their business is all around figuring out how to be consistently visible. Being visible affects everything: consistent income, stability, growth, opportunities, self-worth, impact.
We are taught and pressured into visibility having a schedule, being about types and kinds of posts, about platforms, content pillars and audience growth.
In truth, you have to have clarity - in energy and then words - before you can even know the type, style and form of visibility that’s right for you.
We are simply not taught about the energy of visibility. Visibility is an outward-facing thing. For the outward-facing thing to happen, the inner foundations have to be solid.
If visibility is something you struggle with as it relates to your business and your work, then take a look at the energy of all the inner things first. Because once those are clear, then how you approach the external things will become obvious.
As for me, I’m right at that threshold. I’m clear. I’ve built the foundations. Now I’m considering the details.
And I’m not so sure traditional social media will be a part of how I stay visible. I’m looking at options. And will be trying out a few experiments - one on Instagram and one here on Substack. And I just might play a little on YouTube a little later on.
The beautiful thing about not knowing if, or how, I’ll stay on social media is that it doesn’t hang heavy. I feel like I’ve got some clear guideposts and I know where I’m heading so the not knowing isn’t relevant. It will become obvious. I’ll just give it time and trust my intuition.
Here’s my vision. What’s yours?
I envision a world where business is no longer built on fear and scarcity but on trust, wisdom, and true wealth—measured by connection, contribution, and shared well-being.
Intuitive and spiritual women are at the forefront of this shift. By claiming their worth and authority, they challenge outdated norms and lead in ways that honor intuition, integrity, and sufficiency.
The future isn’t shaped by what seems realistic, but by what we believe is possible. Business, like life, is a field of potential—one that responds to vision, energy, and the willingness to create beyond old limitations.
Together, we are redefining success and building a world where business serves the whole—where thriving is not just personal, but collective, and what once seemed impossible becomes the new standard.
YES! Beautifully said...
I needed this today and didn’t even know it! Thank you! <3
