No more deep dives into wounded places
It's time to leave behind the comfort of choices that keep us small
I have a morning routine that includes listening to an Abraham Hicks recording. Each morning, I open YouTube and listen to the first one up.
I’ve learned that the one that shows up is tailor-made for me. The message will be just exactly what I’m pondering or working through at the time.
I began this practice over 4 years ago when I was in an untenable relationship, with no apparent good choices. I just needed something simple that would help me start my day in a positive frame of mind. It became my version of daily meditation.
This practice was one of the threads that held me up as I moved through the end of that relationship. Through that time I argued with, questioned and found myself confused with the simple wisdoms shared by Abraham.
Now that I’m on the other side of that hard time, I have a deeper understanding of their teachings. Now I can listen to a clip that is familiar and hear the message with a nuance I was unable to take in in the past.
In the message I heard today, Abraham explains how the path of least resistance isn’t always the easiest.
It went something like this:
Your inner self is holding strong to your Vortex for what you want and who you are.
Every thought that you think is a vortex too.
Sometimes you get on a path to one of those other vortices - toward something unwanted - because you’ve got your thoughts going that way.
When you do, it is the path of least resistance.
Even though it is the path of least resistance it won’t feel like the easiest path. It won’t feel good because the path to what you do want - the one being held by your inner being - feels like ease and flow.
There are all kinds of things we’ve set into motion. We have so many things ready to ‘pop into reality’. Which one pops depends on what you are giving your attention to.
When you are on a path of least resistance towards something unwanted there’s negative emotion present within you moving you away from, not toward, what you really want. ~Abraham
I share this because I’m so aware of how easy it is to follow the path of least resistance even when that path doesn’t feel good.
I’ve done it. It’s also what led me down the path of deep inner work. I became tired of not feeling good and not getting closer to what I wanted as I followed the path of least resistance.
I know that, like me, the path of inner work has been a long one for so many of us.
In fact, I think many of us who have spent the last decade or more doing the deep inner work that we’ve been called to, have taught ourselves to ‘get good’ with not feeling the best.
Healing our past, our inner child, our lineage, our past lives – has been about feeling the hard feelings. Diving deep into fears. Weeping the tears of grief and sorrow. Burning with anger. Unearthing the shame.
All this work has been done because we were seeking our way toward a better-feeling life, toward more of what we want. We want joy, ease and flow.
The irony is that we’ve gotten comfortable with the hard feelings, the deep work.
As a result, we are inadvertently making it harder on ourselves to shift over to the ease, joy and flow. Exactly because we are comfortable with the hard.
I see it in the people around me. I see it in my clients. And I see it in myself.
Do you see how this is an interesting ‘problem’?
You are making both conscious and unconscious choices that take you down a path of unwanted – because that feeling is a comfortable one. It may not be a good feeling but it IS comfortable.
It could be something as simple as staying up later than you know you can handle so that the next day you are slow and not at your best. Or it could be about leaning heavily to second-guessing choices and actions. It could be the voice of self-judgement when you don’t meet some self imposed goal. Or it could be the monkey-mind that gets going on some old tresspass done to you by another.
These are simple things. And I have done them all. You may have done these or have some of your own.
Have you considered that at some level you are using them, actively using them, to keep yourself small? To keep you in a comfortable feeling place of continued focus on self-growth?
I know that the energy that is moving on the planet now will amplify your ease, joy and flow so quickly it will surprise you in such good ways.
We have so much support to play big, to step into leadership with all of our gifts.
Still, rather than choose this path and hold it, you choose the comfortable, known feeling. I do it too.
Because playing big calls us outside of our comfort.
Be kind to yourself if this is happening to you. This is a normal thing for a human body. We are systemically designed to maintain the norm. And breaking the norm takes effort. (For more on this you can read Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Joe Dispenza.)
Why do I share this?
Because as an intuitive woman who has done years of inner work, you are being called forward into your power and leadership.
It was your work that helped raise the vibration of the planet.
It was your work that opened you up to the possibilities available to you.
It was your work that has refined your senses to be your own leader at this time.
The paradigm for our growth has changed. For all of us.
It’s no longer about deep dives into wounded places. It’s no longer about lengthy discomfort.
Now we are growing through joy, ease and flow.
I share this because I want you to know you can move into the discomfort of joy and ease, and it will be more than ok.
I share this because I want you to know that as an intuitive woman it is time to claim your power. Simply doing so is leadership.
I invite you to step out of the comfort of the unwanted, follow your intuition, join your inner self on the path of least resistance toward what you DO want.
It’ll feel uncomfortable at first, but it will be more than worth it.
If you’d like support to hold to the path of what you want in your life and business, this is exactly what I do in my 1:1 mentoring. Schedule a discovery call here to see if this is for you.
Upcoming call - February 9
I host a monthly Ask Me Anything call to offer support to anyone who has a question about growing their business as an intuitive woman. All questions are welcome.
My intuition is clarecognizance and when you ask your question the answers appear for me to share with you. Join here to get meeting links and reminders. The call is free.
Amen. Thank you for the reminder, Judith!
